We worked with a Swedish company called Televilt to build us a custom low-power, waterproof GPS tracker
to ensure the safety of the SCCOOS mooring. We motored out to the SCCOOS site to attach the new GPS
unit to the buoy, seen as a light gray box on the left side of the buoy's light. Location data are
transmitted twice per day to OPL's internal database system.
Televilt traditionally outfits large animals with tracking devices.
