Reflections of Japan:
Japan is a wonderful country. Its people and culture cause wonder and confusion. Their quiet, respectful, polite demeanor is offset by the love of neon, loud music,
and bright lights. Additionally, one expects strong family values in the Japanese. However, it is acceptable for working fathers to eat dinner and drink
with his co-workers daily, after leaving the office. Religion is an even crazier issue with the Japanese. 90% of the people profess to follow the Shinto
religion, 80% are Buddhists and 1% are Christian. That addes up to 171%! Most people follow both Shinto and Buddhism; Shinto for the happy occasions
(marriages, births, etc.) and Buddhism for unhappy occasions (death). The funniest thing is that nearly 100% of the population celebrates Christmas for
fun and 30% of the population gets married in a church - not for religious purposes, but because they believe it is romantic.
